Michaela Twigg, CNM

midwife in Torrance, CA
A smiling person with long blonde hair, wearing a maroon shirt and a stethoscope around their neck, sits in an office.

As a Certified Nurse Midwife, Michaela is honored to provide compassionate, evidence-based care to individuals and families through every stage of life. Her journey into midwifery began with six years as a labor and delivery nurse, where she had the privilege of supporting hundreds of families through birth. During her midwifery training, she managed more than 100 labors and personally welcomed 67 babies into the world—experiences that strengthened both her clinical expertise and her deep respect for the transformative nature of birth.

Michaela completed her midwifery education at California State University, Fullerton, graduating at the top of her class. She now practices full-scope midwifery care in the South Bay and Beverly Hills, attending hospital births and providing comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care. Her professional interests include obstetric care, gynecology, contraception, and perimenopause support. She believes midwifery offers a safe, accessible approach for low-risk individuals to receive comprehensive, relationship-centered OB/GYN care.

Her philosophy is rooted in holistic, individualized care. Michaela believes people are not factory-built, and healthcare should never feel impersonal or one-size-fits-all. She strives to see each patient as a whole person rather than a collection of medical conditions and is committed to fostering an inclusive environment where individuals of all gender identities, sexual orientations, and family structures feel respected, supported, and affirmed.

Michaela believes the best outcomes occur when patients feel informed, empowered, and actively involved in decisions about their health. By combining strong clinical training with thoughtful, evidence-based practice while recognizing that every situation is unique, she provides care that honors each patient's values, experiences, goals, and personal choices.

Outside of work, Michaela enjoys spending time outdoors in the South Bay with her husband and their dog, Willow. She can often be found running, hiking, baking, or getting lost in a good book. She considers it a privilege to care for patients and their families during some of life's most meaningful transitions and looks forward to partnering with them throughout their healthcare journey.
